Red Light Center (RLC), available as of May 2006, is an online adult 3D
virtual reality sex world where nudity and sex are a primary entertainment
aspect.
You have to download a free software program that allows you to create your
unique avatar with which you have access to the virtual world. Membership is
free until you decide to become a VIP member. Like in other online worlds
these avatars can be personalized with new outfits, piercings and various sex
toys on which you can have a look first before deciding whether to purchase.
One of the Red Light Center emphasis is the support of XXX commerce, the world (according to
Amsterdam's famous Red Light District) is full of shops for pics and videos, you
can even set up your own store to sell real and virtual sex.
You can make your first sexual experiences by getting private with some of the
RLC sex bots. Practice the variety of cybersex positions out of a list of moves
and sub-moves.
The move changes are lovely animated with a seamless
fade effect. There are straight and lesbian pairings
supported, including homosexual options. Several themed and equipped rooms are
available for BDSM play.
Also VOIP is supported and gets automatically activated when you enter a private

One main focus lies on lesbian sex, as the producers say the aim is to provide a

After your login to the RLC world you enter the transporter room,
kind of dispatcher that allows you to transport to other key locations (e.g.
Virtual Vancouver) of the virtual world.
One new location in RLC is the aquarium where users can swim with
different undersea animals and explore a sunken pirate ship. The rocks around
this aquarium provide room to socialize with people who share this beach area
with you. Behind the aquarium you'll find various small caves.
In late 2007 a complete new area, Virtual Vancouver (VV), was
added to RLC.
This city provides the following locations:
Skatepark
Chapel
Amphitheatre
Discotheque "The Blur"
Beach Promenade
The House of Leather and Lace (LaL), a privately operated area
in the RLC. There is no special membership required to enter the LaL, but
VIP-Only which means no basic tourists ;-)
The outer area is divided into the followig parts:
- A big hot tub with a starry sky and a sea of candles.
- The lake, kind of very large pool surrounded by lovely seating arrangements
- The beach houses, every house supports a population of 20 members, the only
locations for virtual sex in the outer area of the LaL. Because of the
population range rather a public sex area.

So I went to RLC to see what all the hype was about... and all it was is hype.
Don't be fooled by the offer of a free membership. You can't do anything
without being a vip member other than dance and walk around. So I invested the
$20 monthly fee to become a vip and... I could now dance and walk around naked.
There is a sex-simulator engine, but it was more laughable than erotic. I was
very disappointed. If you do check it out for yourself, remember there is not
much more as a vip member regardless of what they say.

I must take up the cudgels for RLC, if you say your toon does nothing you do
nothing! This world isn't designed for passive entertainment, it's rather the
platform to sozialize in the ways you like or even have virtual sex
experiences. The possibility to download the client and become a basic member
for free is good, other games require you to pay from the start, here you have
the option to see for yourself if you like it or not. I like it, especially
meeting new people and exploring my fantasies.

This is completely intended for people who pay. The only thing a basic member
can do is run around and look at buildings and people. It doesn't do anyone
any good to download this without the intention of paying. you can't even add
people to your friends list without having to pay. There is no experience for
the basic user everything is for the vip members to participate in. I wasted
my time with this! Don't waste yours!

Red Light Center is a waste of time and money. Its nothing more then a chat
room with graphics. While your toon stands there dancing or doing nothing you
can talk to other players, period, thats it. They tell you there is more but I
wasted the 20 bucks to find out there isn't anything else. Its just a glorifed
chat room!
